www.mountainartcenter.org (click on artists web page)
Have you always wanted to try watercolor painting or do you want to get back into it after not painting for a long time? Do you wonder if you can paint without having a lot of drawing experience? This class is for you. Art should be fun! Anouk is a Dutch artist who has been teaching painting, printmaking and drawing for eleven years. She graduated from a well known Art Academy in Amsterdam, Holland, and has developed a method of teaching art that is direct, creative and process oriented. She has been exhibiting and selling her work for more than 30 years nationally and internationally and is known for her loose, playful and humorous style of teaching that brings out the best in her students. In the first class we will be drawing with pencil in connection to watercolor. Next we will progress to pen and ink washes and watercolor washes. Anouk will guide you through many exciting exercises to prepare you for watercolor painting while helping you to produce spontaneous, unique and original art you didn’t think you could create - art you may want to frame. Through playing with paints and the “letting it happen and making it happen” approach you will be amazed how much you will learn about colors, mixing, composition, brush strokes, washes and many other basic and experimental techniques. There will be weekly demos and lots of useful and inspirational hand-outs. The materials list will be minimal in order for you to focus on being creative with a minimum of materials without being overwhelmed with too many choices. Please call Anouk at 338-7716 or email her at anouk@msn.com for the list so that you will be prepared for the first class. No class 6/29.
