Adult/Teen Tennis Classes

NEW INSTRUCTOR!

Fred is a dedicated and skilled tennis professional, with over 20 years experience in the tennis industry, from Montreal to Santa Barbara. He is excited to be the new tennis professional for the City of Capitola Recreation, and looks forward to working with local players to take the program to the next level. Fred earned national ranking as a junior player in Canada, and played #1 singles and doubles in college where he earned a B.S. in Athletic Therapy specializing in Exercise Science. He is also a talented golf professional, hockey instructor, and personal trainer. Fred's teaching philosophy is to provide individualized attention to players of all ages, and find the perfect balance between progressive skill development, fitness, and, of course, FUN! In his year-round classes, clinics, and affordable private lessons, Fred is dedicated to helping you achieve your personal goals whether you are a first time player looking to have some healthy fun in the sun, or an experienced competitor looking to take your A-game to the next level.

Many, many thanks to Paul Breslin-Kessler, our long-term, popular instructor, who rebuilt our tennis program into a thriving program and created a real sense of community among our class participants, players and USTA team participants! We wish him all the best!

ADULT CLASS SCHEDULING & PRICES

All classes are 6 weeks.
All classes for ages 16 years & up. (For kids' classes see the Preschool & School-Age pages).
Classes are held at Jade Street Park Tennis Courts.
A $8 ball fee is payable to the instructor at the first class for all classes.
No class Wednesday, July 4th.

PLEASE NOTE: The parking lot adjacent to the tennis courts will be closed this summer due to contruction of the Opal Cliffs preschool. Please plan on parking on 47th Avenue and walking across the soccer field area to the courts.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

BEGINNER: Through games and drills, in a fun social environment, you will learn proper grip, strokes, etiquette and rules.
INTERMEDIATE: This class is for players looking to improve their strokes and their overall playing abilities. Through drills, you will improve your strokes and game play will allow you to learn better strategies to improve your game.
ADVANCED: Through drills and games you will learn what the best Singles and Doubles tactics are and why. Learn these patterns, and you'll dramatically improve your game play. Knowing what to do in certain match situations is critical to improving your game.
CARDIO (Max 10): Cardio Tennis is a new, fun group activity featuring drills and games to give players of all abilities an ultimate, high energy workout. Come get a great cardio workout while improving your skills (and it's more fun than any treadmill...).
